Michigan's Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA), set to take effect on February 21, 2025, replaces the previous Paid Medical Leave Act, expanding provisions for employees, including specific allowances for situations involving domestic violence or sexual assault. In preparation for its implementation, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) has provided guidance and resources to help employers and employees understand the new requirements.
