Louisiana has updated the Earned Income Credit notices for 2020 and 2021.

Louisiana’s notice for Earned Income Credit now lists the information for both 2020 and 2021 tax filing.

On the 2020 EIC notice, the “Advance Payments of EITC Eliminated” section was removed. Instead, it now lists information about the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Relief Act of 2020. This temporary relief is provided through the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Relief Act of 2020. For the latest updates on coronavirus tax relief related to the Earned Income Tax Credit, check IRS.gov/coronavirus.

On the 2021 EIC notice, the Earned Income and adjusted gross income (AGI) rates for 2021 were added for people who earn $51,000 or less and have qualifying dependents. Also, the tax provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, signed into law on March 11, 2021, are under review and may affect the EITC.

This is a mandatory update.
